Gault&Millau Guide South Tyrol

Development, Editorial Design, Art Direction

With the Gault & Millau Gourmet Guide South Tyrol 2021/2022, Burda Verlag launches a new format of their Gault & Millau guides.

For the first time, the world of exquisite taste is combined into four categories: wine, gastronomy, hotels and shopping. Features with large-format photos give an insight into different regions of South Tyrol and provide relevant background knowledge.

The guide’s dominant color is Gault & Millau’s corporate design red, stricingly used for the cover, which features an illustration of the Schlern.

The design is well structured and kept simple to not distract from the content. The pages are structured in a strict grid in order to clearly convey the large amount of content. The features allow variety and freedom and also create a connection to the new Gault & Millau magazine. By using the same fonts, we create an additional alignment to the magazine. In doing so, the Gault & Millau Gourmet Guide South Tyrol works as a connecting element between the already published wine guides and the magazine.

For the Gourmet Guide South Tyrol, experts tested and rated 96 wineries, 133 restaurants, 103 hotels and 174 other locations. With this guide, not only winemakers and restaurateurs, but also hotels and food producers, alpine pastures, bakers and other insider tips get their well-deserved time in the lime light.
